Uniqlo U Drop Just Dropped Your Spring Color Theory Guide

Uniqlo U is back. With pants specialist Christophe Lemaire at the helm, the big-box retailer’s cheat code for better style remains a repository of thoughtful not-so-basics done up in a range of dusty tones and dialed silhouettes. Looking for a cropped windbreaker in a hard-to-nail shade of lavender? Lemaire’s got it. How about a delightfully poindexter short-sleeve button-up with a just-right relaxed fit? He’s got that, too—along with the pleated, high-waisted trousers you should wear it with.

“I’m truly convinced by the philosophy of Uniqlo, which is about bringing solutions to people and being interested in the reality of everyday life again,” Lemaire tells GQ over email. “I think that’s what fashion should be.”

Five Instant-Buys from Uniqlo U’s Spring Drop

The duo’s latest drop, in stores and online as of this morning, makes good on that premise. As per usual, it includes a wardrobe’s worth of easy-wearing spring upgrades with a no-frills, utilitarian bent—pocket-heavy zip-ups, slouchy knits, and a grip of GQ-favorite tees equipped with the brand’s moisture-wicking AIRism technology. And once again, prices start low and top out at only marginally higher.
