The Green Motion Master Franchise for Oman has been acquired by the Omani travel company ‘Discovery Travel Group’, owned by local entrepreneur Fahad Al Hooti.

“The launch of Green Motion Oman is of high significance for our brand’s strategic growth in the Middle East and marks another important milestone in the development of our brand in the region,” said Green Motion founder and CEO Richard Lowden in a news release.

Al Hooti added, “Our aim is to offer unmatched service, reliability, and sustainability. With Green Motion’s expertise and our local knowledge, we’ll [boost] Oman’s travel industry, providing exceptional experiences while promoting environmental responsibility.

In another sign of growth, U-Save Car and Truck Rental, owned by Green Motion, announced a strategic partnership on May 16 with Dubai-based Al Rais Rent A Car, owned by the Al Rais Investment group. Al Rais acquired the master country franchise for U-Save in the United Arab Emirates.

Established in 2002 as part of Al Rais Investment, Al Rais Rent A Car has distinguished itself in the UAE’s competitive car rental market.

With its roots in the establishment of Al Rais Investment in 1976, the group has been at the forefront of various pivotal sectors such as general trade, travel and tourism, real estate, logistics, business services, and car rental.

“Securing the U-Save master franchise aligns perfectly with our strategic vision to broaden our horizons while enhancing the mobility services we provide,” said Mohamed Jassim Al Rais, Chairman and CEO of Al Rais Investment, in a news release. “This partnership reinforces our commitment to adopting sustainable practices that contribute to our community and the environment.”

Added Lowden: “Al Rais Rent A Car is a company that embodies our values and demonstrates exceptional leadership in the UAE and has proven to be a highly trusted and driven collaboration. Together, we look forward to setting new benchmarks in the car rental industry here in Dubai.”

U-Save Car & Truck Rental, an American brand known for its comprehensive range of auto rental services, was acquired in 2022 by the environmentally focused international car rental brand Green Motion.

Established in the United Kingdom in 2007, international car rental brand Green Motion has since expanded into over 70 countries around the world, across over 650 operational locations, staying true to its 100% franchised model.
