The 'Thunderbolts*' Guys Are All in on Light-Jacket Season

Perhaps we will all look back on the press tour for the latest Marvel-ensemble flick Thunderbolts* in two distinct phases: Before Rizzler, and After Rizzler. But prior to the nine-year-old social media star’s much-discussed surprise appearance at a screening in New York City on Wednesday evening, the fellas of Thunderbolts* were already making a splash in a different way: by taking full advantage of light-jacket season.

Since the start of the promo cycle, Marvel newcomer Lewis Pullman, who is the youngest son of Hollywood GOAT Bill Pullman, set a high bar for the rest of the crew. Under the guidance of stylist Warren Alfie Baker (whose exceptionally hunky client roster also includes the likes of Andrew Garfield, Glen Powell, Matt Bomer, and Drew Starkey), the actor has been on an outfit heater, leaning heavily into the Richard Gere Guide to Blazers and opting for boxy, masculine silhouettes paired with Americana-y staples like blue jeans and leather boots. At a press event in London last week, Pullman looked great in a sharp-shouldered, double-breasted Armani jacket, a simple white shirt, straight-legged Levi’s jeans (cinched with GQ’s favorite accessory right now, the minimal Western belt), and pointy-toed Stetsons. A somewhat formal take on light-jacket season, but a strong showing nonetheless.

Thankfully, Pullman’s costars Sebastian Stan (whose fresh buzzcut is in service of his upcoming role in the drama Fjord, the first English-language feature from Romanian director Cristian Mungiu) and David Harbour were prepared to take up the gauntlet. It certainly helps that both actors share the same stylist, Michael Fisher, who dressed the duo in their own respective weather-versatile outerwear for a recent Jimmy Kimmel Live appearance. Stan supplemented his mostly Margiela fit—gray canvas chore coat, pinstriped trousers, and “Sprinters” sneakers—with a plain white tee from Abercrombie. Harbour went tonal in a boxy suede zip-up jacket, linen shirt, and New Balance sneakers, all in muted shades of green.
