Why the Colts can cover
Indianapolis ranks seventh in the NFL in scoring, averaging 25.8 points per contest. In fact, the Colts are the only team in the league that has scored at least 20 points in every game this season. The club has rushed for 12 touchdowns, with Zack Moss leading the way with five, and thrown for 11 while adding three defensive scores, including two by cornerback Kenny Moore II on pick-sixes last week.
Gardner Minshew’s ability to hold on to the football will be a key for Indianapolis to be successful. The 27-year-old quarterback has thrown just one interception and lost one fumble in his 10 career wins as a starter, but was picked off 17 times and lost 15 fumbles in his 19 losses. The Colts have gone 4-0 this season when Minshew does not commit a turnover and 0-3 when he does. See which team to pick here.
Why the Patriots can cover
With leading receiver Kendrick Bourne (knee) already out, New England is hoping Demario Douglas is able to overcome his ankle ailment and be on the field Sunday. The 22-year-old rookie was the top receiver in last week’s 20-17 loss to Washington, gaining a season-high 55 yards on five catches. Douglas is tied with tight end Hunter Henry for second on the team with 277 receiving yards.
Henry had his third touchdown reception of 2023 in Week 9 after registering a total of two in 17 games last season. The TD pass was the fifth in five contests for quarterback Mac Jones, who went without one over his previous three outings. The 28-year-old Henry led the Patriots with 50 receiving yards in last year’s 26-3 victory against the Colts. He hauled in a pair of scoring passes from Jones in the fourth quarter while finishing with a team-high 77 yards in New England’s 27-17 setback at Indianapolis the previous season.
