How To Watch

What to Know

We’ve got another exciting Big 12 matchup on schedule as the Texas Longhorns and the Iowa State Cyclones are set to tip at 8:00 p.m. ET on February 6th at Moody Center. Texas will be strutting in after a win while the Cyclones will be stumbling in from a defeat.

TCU typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Texas proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 77-66 win over the Horned Frogs.

Texas got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Max Abmas out in front who scored 21 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Disu, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Meanwhile, Iowa State unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost 70-68 to the Bears on a last-minute jump shot From Jayden Nunn. Iowa State found out winning isn’t easy when you make seven fewer threes than your opponent.

Keshon Gilbert put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 24 points along with two steals.

The Longhorns’ victory bumped their record up to 15-7. As for the Cyclones, their loss dropped their record down to 16-5.

Fans should be in for an exciting game on Tuesday as the pair are among the highest scoring teams in the league right now. Texas hasn’t had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 76.6 points per game. However, it’s not like Iowa State struggles in that department as they’ve been averaging 79.9 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.

Texas strolled past the Cyclones in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 72-54. Will Texas repeat their success, or do the Cyclones have a better game plan this time around? We’ll find out soon enough.
