Fantasy football 2024 rankings, draft prep: QB, RB, WR, TE picks, ADP, cheat sheets, tiers from an NFL model

The Chicago Bears have never had a quarterback throw for 4,000 yards in a season, a drought that rookie quarterback Caleb Williams will try to achieve as one of the 2024 Fantasy football breakouts. Williams was the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft, so there are lofty expectations surrounding the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner. He threw for 4,537 yards in 14 games during that campaign before finishing with 3,633 yards in 12 contests last year. Where does he land in the 2024 Fantasy football rankings?

Williams joins Jayden Daniels, Anthony Richardson and C.J. Stroud as young quarterbacks who are already playing major roles in 2024 Fantasy football strategy. Should you target any of them with your 2024 Fantasy football picks? If you’re looking for 2024 Fantasy football advice, be sure to check out the 2024 Fantasy football cheat sheets from the proven computer model at SportsLine.

Last year, the model accurately predicted that Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle would fail to live up to his Fantasy football ADP. Waddle’s 2023 Fantasy football ADP was 34.86 overall and he was the 11th receiver off the board on average. He’d go on to notch a 1,000-yard season but only had 72 receptions with four touchdowns and he’d finish as the No. 34 Fantasy football wide receiver in CBS Sports PPR leagues.

The same model has a proven track record providing Fantasy football tips, identifying A.J. Brown as a sleeper in 2020 and nailing Jonathan Taylor’s monstrous season in 2021. Additionally, it’s called past Fantasy football sleepers like Derrick Henry in 2019, Christian McCaffrey and Alvin Kamara in 2018, and Davante Adams in 2017. Anybody who banked on players like those made a run at their league title.

The model is powered by the same people who generated projections for all three major Fantasy sites, and it beat human experts last season when there was a big difference in ranking. The 2024 Fantasy football PPR rankings and 2024 Fantasy football standard projections update multiple times daily, so you’re always getting the best Fantasy football advice and the latest Fantasy football tiers.

Top 2024 Fantasy football QB rankings

Here’s a look at SportsLine’s top three 2024 Fantasy football QB picks:

1. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles: Hurts finished as the QB2 in Fantasy scoring last year, even though his average dropped by nearly four points per game. He continues to provide rushing value to his Fantasy owners, racking up 605 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns, which were the most ever for a quarterback in a single season. An uptick in passing yards this season could lead to a historic Fantasy campaign.

2. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills: Allen has not finished worse than QB2 over the past four seasons, throwing for more than 4,000 yards in each of those campaigns. Like Hurts, he provides tremendous value as a runner, scoring 15 touchdowns of his own. His previous single-season high was nine, so he continues to find ways to increase his Fantasy production.

3. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs: Mahomes is coming off a disappointing QB8 finish in Fantasy scoring, averaging 261.4 passing yards per game. It was his fewest passing yards per game in six years as the Chiefs’ starting quarterback, and he also hit lows in yards per attempt and touchdown rate. However, the two-time MVP has a pair of 5,000-yard passing seasons in his career, and Kansas City added a pair of quality receivers in Marquise Brown and Xavier Worthy. See more top QBs here.

Top 2024 Fantasy football RB rankings

Here’s a look at SportsLine’s top three 2024 Fantasy football RB picks:

1. Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers: The biggest hit to McCaffrey’s fantasy stock over his professional career has been his health. He has only missed one start in two seasons in San Francisco, and the result was being the 2023 rushing leader with 1,459 yards on the ground. Expect McCaffrey to have another big season for the 49ers, and for him to be off the board early in Fantasy football drafts.

2. Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons: Robinson’s numbers were strong last season, but he finished RB17 in fantasy points per game since Arthur Smith favored giving the ball to Tyler Allgeier. He’s expected to have a bigger workload in 2024 since the Falcons have a new coaching staff and should have a much bigger fantasy impact.

3. Breece Hall, New York Jets: Hall’s rookie campaign was derailed by a season-ending ACL injury, but he bounced back in a big way in 2023. New York’s QB carousel ensured that the run game got plenty of work, and Hall ended the season averaging 4.5 yards per game with five touchdowns. He also had 76 receptions, which was up from just 19 the season before. See more top RBs here.

Top 2024 Fantasy football WR rankings

Here’s a look at SportsLine’s top three 2024 Fantasy football WR picks:

1. CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys: Lamb finished with 135 catches for 1,749 yards and scored 14 total touchdowns last season (all career-highs) and the underlying metrics were all strong as well. His 181 targets led the NFL and he was also first in red zone targets (31), YAC (680), route wins (323) and Fantasy points per game (23.7).

2. Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins: While Lamb led the NFL in reception, Hill led the league in receiving yards (1,799) and receiving touchdowns (13). He’s the NFL’s ultimate home-run hitter and Mike McDaniel has used him to attack opposing defenses relentlessly. Hill’s 36.9% target share was the highest in the NFL and his 44.0% air yards share ranked second among NFL receivers.

3. Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions: St. Brown is an unmistakable star now but the former fourth-round pick still plays with an enormous chip on his shoulder and it shows. He caught 119 passes for 1,515 yards and 10 touchdowns (all career-highs) last season despite playing through multiple injuries and he’s playing in one of the most exciting offenses in the NFL. See more top WRs here.

Top 2024 Fantasy football TE rankings

Here’s a look at SportsLine’s top three 2024 Fantasy football TE picks:

1. Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs: There’s no need to overthink this one. Kelce has finished as TE1 in six of the last eight seasons and despite finishing as TE3 last season, he was No. 1 on a points-per-game basis. Kansas City didn’t make significant upgrades to its playmaking room and the Patrick Mahomes-Kelce connection will go down as one of the best in NFL history. Expect another huge season from arguably the most dominant tight end in NFL history.

2. Sam LaPorta, Detroit Lions: The second-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft finished as TE1 in his rookie season and if anyone appears ready to overtake Kelce as the top option at the position, it’s him. LaPorta had 10 touchdowns last season, one of only seven players with double-digit receiving scores, with four more touchdowns than anyone else at his position. The Lions return nearly their entire offense, including offensive coordinator Ben Johnson who had opportunities to become a head coach elsewhere, as LaPorta looks to build on his strong rookie campaign.

3. Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens: Andrews was TE4 in Fantasy football on a points-per-game basis last season and was on track to finish with another elite season before a significant ankle injury in Week 11 ended his regular season. Not including the game in which he suffered the injury, Andrews had at least 60 receiving yards in five of his last seven contests and he led Baltimore in receiving yards per game (54.4) last season. He will remain a top target for Lamar Jackson as the model projects him as a top-three Fantasy football tight end this year. See more top TEs here.
