After three consecutive draws, Inter Miami will need to win sooner than later to keep up their chase for the Maor League Soccer single season points record of 72. The issue is that will be easier said than done with three matches remaining and this one coming against the Columbus Crew. This is a match that could be a preview for the Eastern Conference final with the top two teams squaring off.

If Miami is to win an MLS Cup, they’ll have to go through the reigning champions along the way so what better time to see if they’re ready than an away trip to Columbus?

Here’s our storylines, how you can watch the match and more:

Storylines

Columbus Crew: Wilfried Nancy will have a full complement of players at his disposal while the Crew look to bounce back after losing the Campeones Cup to Club America then drawing against DC United. While that match is essentially a friendly, everyone wants to have momentum heading into playoffs and with four remaining matches, there won’t be much more time to test themselves. Columbus can also stave off Miami winning the Supporters’ Shield by winning on their home ground as an added bonus.

Inter Miami: While Lionel Messi coming back has been a boon, wins also need to come with it with Miami also wanting to close things out well. It has been a strong season for the Herons who will likely have home field advantage throughout the playoffs but knocking off the Crew away from home is good preparation.

Prediction

Another draw is incoming for the Herons as these two teams are at the top of their game but won’t want to push into the extra gear needed to defeat each other. Pick: Columbus Crew 1, Inter Miami 1
