Arcade and Pochet scoop home the Luxe Pack in green awards in New York

The winners of the Luxe Pack in green awards were unveiled yesterday at the Jacob Javits Center during at the second day of the Luxe Pack New York trade fair.

As every year, the awards honored two categories: the Best Sustainable Packaging Innovation; and, the Best Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative. More than 50 applications were received this year, a record number since the award’s inception.

Best Sustainable Packaging Innovation

Arcade Beauty took the award home in the first category, with its 80% Paper Packette, a recycle-ready mono-dose, small size beauty sample, replacing the traditional aluminum-based foil sachet/packette.

The new sampling solution meets critical repulpability requirements, allowing it to enter the paper recycling stream, and delivers substantial additional environmental benefits, including a 76% reduction in plastic use and a 63% decrease in CO₂ emissions.

Alongside Arcade Beauty, the finalists in the category included: Knoll’s new Ecoform Molded Pulp Refill Compact with Tap Closure; Meadow’s Kapsul solution, which turns cans into a refill; and Fedrigoni Special Papers for their Mohawk Renewal Miscanthus collection of unbleached carbon-neutral papers.

Best CSR Initiative

In the second category, it was the Pochet group that convinced the jury with its Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA) proposal accompanying its new product development projects.

Unlike traditional tools, Pochet relies not on international databases, but on real-time data from its own factories and those of its partners—providing a more current and accurate reflection of reality.
