The semifinals of the 2023 WNBA playoffs continued on Tuesday night with a pair of Game 2s. In the opener, the New York Liberty got back on track with an 84-77 win over the Connecticut Sun. After falling into a double-digit hole, the Liberty switched to a zone defense that stifled the Sun the rest of the way. That series is now tied at 1-1 as it shifts to Connecticut.
Later on, the Las Vegas Aces remained the only undefeated team in the postseason with a 91-84 win over the Dallas Wings. They never trailed in the game, but weren’t comfortable until the final buzzer due to the Wings’ peskiness. A’ja Wilson led the way, finishing with 30 points and 11 rebounds to become the first player ever with three consecutive 30-point games in the playoffs. Now up 2-0, the Aces are one win away from a trip back to the Finals.
While the first round was a best-of-three series, all remaining matchups will now be best-of-five with a 2-2-1 forma. That means the higher seed hosts Games 1, 2, and 5, if necessary.
